Tour de France 2027 in Mid Wales
Stay close to the route near Llandrindod Wells
The Tour de France 2027 is officially coming through Mid Wales, with Stage 3 on Sunday 4 July passing straight through Llandrindod Wells as the riders travel from Welshpool to Cardiff. It’s a huge moment for our area and one we’re already looking forward to.
For anyone staying with us at Coety Bach, this puts you in a brilliant spot to reach the action. We’re only 10 to 15 minutes from Crossgates and 10 to 15 minutes from Llandrindod Wells town centre, which means you have two simple options for getting out to see the riders fly past.
Your closest viewing points
Crossgates
A quick and easy place to get to from the cabin. There’s plenty of parking around Crossgates, which makes it a simple option if you’d prefer to avoid the busier town centre on a race day. Find a spot and enjoy the atmosphere as the peloton comes through. There’s lots of straight stretches of road too for longer viewing in this area.
Llandrindod Wells
If you want more of a buzz around you, head into town. There’ll be more people about, a bit more excitement and plenty to look at before and after the riders arrive.
Both places are close enough that it won’t make much difference to travel time. It’s simply a case of deciding what sort of atmosphere you want on the day.

Bike hire and unforgettable riding
If you’d like to head somewhere quieter the day before or after the race, the Elan Valley is perfect.
There’s bike hire at the Elan Valley Visitor Centre with both standard bikes and e-bikes available.
The Elan Valley Trail is one of the most beautiful traffic free routes in the area.
There are longer loops too if you fancy more of a day out.
It’s a lovely mix of reservoirs, dams, woodland and open hillsides, and it’s only a short drive from us.
