Coety Bach is ideally located for things to do and places to see, please click here to browse the 'Local Attractions' page and here to discover local 'Towns and Villages'.

But...why not spend the day relaxing in the secluded garden or on the veranda, watching the clouds roll by and birds swoop overhead.  You'll almost certainly spot a red kite or two. Unwind with a good book or just reconnect with nature. Build the firepit up and as the sun disappears behind the hills often in shrouds of pink, red and orange, you could be enjoying an outdoor feast. All cooked over the fire on a tripod barbeque grill, washed down with a bottle of wine.

Listen out for the owls and spot some bats as they dart from tree to tree while you warm by the firepit.  Look up as the skies grow darker and on a clear night you can see a spectacular display of stars.  At certain times of the year it's possible to see Venus, Mars and Jupiter with the naked eye, as well as shooting stars, many constellations and regularly passing satellites. When it gets cooler, step back to the cabin, draw the curtains, snuggle up in the nook bed and you're in for a great nights sleep.

If a feeling of calm and isolation is what you're after, with a touch of 'luxurious adventure' then we think you've found the right place.

You enter a natural environment where you can enhance your wellbeing. Past the inviting firepit and through the gate, you are soon welcomed by an attractive veranda with a hand made stable door leading you into the cabin.

A corner bath for two with an overhead shower makes for an ideal way to unwind.

veranda no 2

Coety Bach offers a range of areas to sit outside and admire the Welsh rural landscape. Often used by our guests as the 'breakfast porch', this area offers marvellous views to the North. A great place to enjoy your morning coffee whilst taking in the fresh countryside air. This is also the best spot to watch the sun disappear behind the hills to the West in the evening.

A large sheltered veranda enjoys views over nearby 'Mynyddrheol' where the sheep gather around the craggy rocks and red kites search for their prey. Settle yourself in amongst the potted plants, run a hot bubble bath, kick back and take in the relaxed atmosphere.

There's a firepit just outside the garden, within easy reach of the cabin. Take advantage of the equipment provided to create an authentic cook out meal whilst seated on the surrounding logs.

building coety bach

For some time, we had been waiting for an opportunity to share with others this wonderful corner of idyllic rural Wales. In order to achieve this, we wanted to create a unique retreat for people to enjoy. In early 2019 circumstances were such that we could follow our dream.

building 01

Construction started in February 2019 and Coety Bach was born. It steadily developed as a labour of love which entailed plenty of hard work and determination.

Coety Bach is constructed mainly from larch and cedar, with a kitchen, living area and nook bed crafted from upcycled pallet wood.

We were keen to use a variety of materials for internal fittings to give a quirky, unique, rustic feel to the cabin. This included copper piping for the bathroom fitments, a vintage church light, a stained glass window, wooden shutters over an arched window,  reclaimed beams and a stable door for the entrance.

We used local tradesmen and locally sourced materials. We are especially indebted to local carpenter Clive James, whose help and expertise were invaluable.
